Introducing Real-Time Compliance Dashboards for Infection Control

productcomplianceinfection-control

Most infection preventionists learn about compliance failures the same way: a retrospective chart review, days or weeks after the fact. By then, the intervention window is closed. The patient has already been exposed.

Starting today, Gray Scrubs provides real-time compliance dashboards that surface central line maintenance adherence as it happens.

What the dashboard tracks

The system continuously monitors four core bundle elements during every dressing change and line access event captured by bedside vision sensors:

  • Hand hygiene before line contact. Binary detection, timestamped.
  • Maximal sterile barrier use. Mask, cap, gown, gloves, full drape.
  • Chlorhexidine skin antisepsis. Applied, adequate dwell time observed.
  • Dressing integrity. Clean, dry, intact, with date label visible.

Each event generates a structured compliance record. No manual data entry. No observer bias.

Built for infection control workflows

The default view surfaces non-compliant events at the top, grouped by unit, shift, and bundle element. Compliance rates roll up to unit-level and facility-level summaries that update every 15 minutes.

Filters allow drill-down by time range, specific ICU, nurse assignment, or individual bundle component. Every event links to a short anonymized video clip for verification.

What this replaces

The conventional approach to central line bundle compliance monitoring involves trained observers conducting direct observation audits. Published studies suggest that these audits typically capture fewer than 5% of all eligible events. The sample is small, the observer effect inflates compliance rates, and the data arrives too late to prevent harm.

The dashboard does not replace clinical judgment. It replaces the clipboard.

Availability

Real-time compliance dashboards are available now for all current Gray Scrubs deployments. No additional hardware is required. Contact your implementation manager to enable the feature.
